Antarctica Marathon 2027 offers runners a rare opportunity to combine endurance, expedition travel, and one of the world’s most extraordinary landscapes. Held on King George Island, Antarctica, the race takes participants across rugged gravel roads connecting international research bases, with glaciers, snowfields, icy winds, and the vast silence of the White Continent forming an unforgettable backdrop.
The journey begins in Buenos Aires, Argentina, with a three-night stay that allows runners to meet fellow participants, explore the city, and attend the official trip briefing. From there, participants fly to Ushuaia, the southernmost gateway to Antarctica, before boarding the Ocean Victory for an expedition-style voyage across the Southern Ocean.
In 2027, the event will welcome runners and supporters across two departures, with marathon, half marathon, 10K, and Ultra 50K race options available. Beyond race day, the voyage includes expert-led lectures, wildlife encounters, and landings that bring participants close to glaciers, icebergs, penguins, seals, whales, and remote research sites.
For runners chasing the dream of racing on all seven continents, Antarctica Marathon is a once-in-a-lifetime adventure on the planet’s ultimate frozen frontier.
